Styling Tips:
We hear the question, "What do we need to wear?" often. So because of that we wanted this to be such a beautiful experience all around. Below are things we recommend when shooting with us and why. I promise choosing the right color palette for your next engagement or family session is going to make you love your photos even more. Check out our tips below!
Wear Neutrals:
Now this is mainly for our color shy people, but lucky for you neutrals photograph beautifully. Browns, creams, gray, black, Champagne, and taupe all photograph so beautiful especially for the fall and winter months. So if you are not sure what color to wear, just go neutral and I promise you will not regret it.
NO PATTERNS:
Now don't think I mean NO completely but if you do choose a pattern, for example what if you fell in love with that floral dress and you really want to wear it? WEAR IT QUEEN!!!! Just if you do, let the family or your fiancé wear one color that compliments the dress. I usually tell my clients to choose the colors on the dress for the family or the fiancé to wear. having too many patterns can be a distraction.
What colors look good on you?:
Do you have friends that tell you "fill in the blank" looks so good on you? Does it compliment your skin complexion? Bring out your eyes? Then wear that color. We highly recommend complimentary colors to you and everyone getting photographed.
Accessories:
We love a good necklace, earrings, a cute hat, and watches on the men. Embrace all of that!!! Just make sure the shirt/dress you are wearing is low cut enough for a necklace, if not then wear bold earrings or bracelets for fun to make your outfit pop. If your outfit seems simple and needs a little spice, We love hats on our girls. We can always take photos with and without the hat too.
Be Comfortable:
If you are not comfortable, then posing may feel awkward or uncomfortable for you. Wear something that feels great in. We love movement photography, so we like our clients to come prepared. Ladies if you wear a dress, I love for you too get twirled. Please wear that dress, but if it is a loose fitted dress we recommend you wear biker shorts underneath incase a burst of wind comes by. We want you to feel comfortable and at ease. So wear something you love but also can move in for all the fun stuff!!!
